My initial experience using Diigo was nothing to rave about in my opinion. My first time using Diigo, I was able to bookmark important websites that I needed. Along with bookmarking the websites, Diigo allows me the opportunity to highlight things in the article, or website. With Diigo, I may annotate and write notes on the same page. What I do like about Diigo though, is that you may share your findings or bookmarking with the group of your choosing. The opportunity to share with a group on Diigo, allows one to connect to different resources that others have found.
So far my experience blogging has been better than expected. I originally thought blogging was pointless and for sharing information with little importance. However, throughout my blog experience I have been able to share useful information about different technology applications and tools that can be useful in the classroom. My classmates have also been doing the same. All the students' blogs are linked on a class blog that was set up by our professor allowing us easy access to everyone's blog filled with new information and different resources. Being exposed to my classmates blogs and the blogs of other professionals, this blogging experience taught me that blogs can be used to further ones knowledge about a subject. I am glad that I first experienced with blogging with my EME class because it has opened my eye to how resourceful blogging can really be. Due to this experience I will definitely consider using blogging in my future career and outside of this course.
A Web 2.0 tool that I might use when teaching is Facebook. Facebook is a social media site that makes it easy for individuals to connect and share online. Although Facebook is platform that individuals use for chatting on a social level, I would use Facebook for teaching by making a class page that students can connect with. I would make my class page a closed group, where students would be able to ask questions about homework assignments and be updated on things they might have missed in class.
