ISTE Digital Citizen Resource


This infographic, along with its accompanied web source/article is about the second student standard which motivates and encourages students to practice and smart digital habits. The infographic compares what is expected of a good citizen and a good digital citizen. This picture can be displayed in classrooms so students can have a daily reminder.

    I love how most of the rules are based on respect. I think it is very important to hear people out and realize other points of view without being judgmental and rude. I love the statistics as well explaining how it links in with every rule. This is a fantastic resource and I will definitely remember this link to look at more often.

Class Dogo is a website and app that allows teachers to share with their students, parents, and school leaders what they have going on in their classroom. Teachers can make posts, message parents, and assign work, all on class dogo. When I first heard about class dogo, through the grapevine, it sounded cool. However, it was not until I actually tried it for myself that I realized how useful, effective, and interactive, the app is, how much it does the same to make the classroom more interactive and communication with the parents more effective. Diigo so far has been a great tool and resource to use to share links and web resources. Diigo has been also a great tool to use when to look up other resources. With Diigo you can look for references using several different tags, separating them using quotations. Once you have found a resource that has been started that is relevant to you, you can see what others have posted or commented that stood out about the site. All of these points that I have covered is the reason that Diigo would be and effective and efficient for team members, classmates in a group. Diigo allows for users to create groups. In these groups, resources are only shared amongst group members. Powerpoint is a very useful tool and can be used to support learning at each level of Bloom's Taxonomy. To implement the first level, remembering, I would show my 2nd grade math class, a link to a video that would help them remember their multiplication facts. My experience on Twitter so far has been a learning journey. With my EME Twitter account I have been exploring other accounts that pertain to teaching and working with children, since I am majoring in family and child science. One thing about my Twitter experience that I have enjoyed is being able to see the different things that teachers do with their students. One thing that I have especially enjoyed was how creative teachers got to promote black history month. Many teachers decorated their doors to look like black students and celebrities. Many others also used their doors and bulletin boards to fill them up with information about black individuals whom made history, besides MLK, Rosa Parks, and Malcolm X. Working on the web design was definitely an experience. Initially, I was very nervous about this assignment because I have always assumed it to be a difficult process. However, with Weebly, the process was very easy. Through Weebly, I learned how to build and design webpages....
